The “Jazz swing” string set are flat wound. They have a wonderful round jazz tone but they can also produce a bite when necessary. These strings work really well for chord melody type playing. I use them on my archtop guitars.
For more fusion type playing that require more of a bite but versatile enough to produce rich jazz tones the “Jazz BeBop” string set are just the ticket. They are round wound and are capable of also to suite an rock environment as well. I use these strings on my solid body and chambered guitars.
